Experience

Susan Spratt, MD, is an endocrinologist and population health specialist at Duke Health in Durham, North Carolina. She has a B.S. in Biology from Yale University (1991) and M.D. from Harvard Medical School (1995). Dr. Spratt is passionate about translating clinical research into good clinical care through education of patients. She runs a weekly diabetes support and education group in Durham, North Carolina and offers virtual diabetes consults for patients at DukeWell. She is a physician champion for Electronic Health Record (E.H.R), recently implementing projects for safe opioid prescribing, social determinants of health, and creation of a thyroid data mart. Upcoming projects include creating a BPA to notify providers of patients with potentially undiagnosed diabetes and an education platform on osteoporosis and hip fracture evaluation and treatment, which will include a podcast and E.H.R. tools. Her hobbies include musical theater dancing and singing, making salads, and crafts of all kinds.
