Unnata® Aerial Yoga, offered at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis, came about after Stella wondered if her aerial acrobatics background could be fused with her love for yoga. A quick search led her to Michelle Dortignac’s New York-based Unnata® Yoga, and she signed up for workshops. That was two years ago. Today, Dortignac tells Star Tribune the struggle to convince people this is not a trendy spinoff continues. The hammock, she says, is a tool no one other yoga classes had yet concentrated an entire curriculum on. Fans say they love the rush of endorphins that comes from hanging upside down.
