Just ahead of weekend grocery hauls, the big box giant posted a notice about a popular high-protein item that comes from their chilled cases.
Costco Just Published a Recall on a Popular Ready-To-Eat Item—Here’s What To Know
A week after their announcement that popular Kirkland Signature prosecco was being recalled due to risk of possible spontaneous shattering, Costco has published another recall, this time on food, and a popular item at that.
On Friday, September 19, Costco’s recalls page indicated that the company making retail chain’s Fresh Ahi Wasabi Poke had issued a recall on the product—specifically, poke “sold at Costco on 9/18/25.” The reason for the recall, they note, is “due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination of the green onions used in the product.”

As we noted in another fish recall notice this week, listeria is a microbe that can grow in cold temperatures.
The recall notice states that the product is distributed by Western United Fish Company, doing business as Annasea Foods Group. Like Costco, the fish company appears to be based in the Seattle region.
The retailer appears to have sent out a notice to members who purchased the product on September 18, and they advise: “Please stop using the product and dispose of it immediately. Visit your local Costco for a full refund.” It also instructed members with questions to contact the distributor, though when we did so to learn which Costco locations are affected by this recall, a recording stated their offices were closed.
