A new FDA report indicates the same issue that led to recent meal recalls from HelloFresh, Blue Apron, and more.
More Than 600 Popular Ready-Made Bowls Recalled in 11 States Due to Listeria
Life gets busy—and sometimes cooking feels like just another chore to check off the list. Meal service subscriptions are an easy way to fill your fridge with nutritious food that’s easy to prepare—or just warm up—on even the busiest nights. However, a recent string of recalls involving popular meal kit brands remind us that contamination concerns can pop up in surprising ways—and another food delivery service, this time one focused specifically on “whole food meals made with nutrient-rich ingredients,” now faces the same issue.
Nutrition for Longevity, a meal subscription service that touts “medically tailored meals” to help “support healing, manage chronic conditions, and promote healthy aging,” has voluntarily recalled its Loaded Veggie Grain Bowl due to potential Listeria contamination, according to an enforcement report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall is noted as currently ongoing.
A total of 635 Loaded Veggie Grain Bowls were distributed directly to consumers in 11 states: California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas, per the FDA.
According to Nutrition for Longevity’s website, the company follows the Longevity Diet from Dr. Valter Longo, director of the Longevity Institute at the University of Southern California. The diet itself claims to be low in protein and sugar, while high in healthy fats and plant-based foods. Nutrition for Longevity offers four meal plans guided by the Longevity Diet, where customers can choose 10 or 15 fully-cooked meals a week for delivery to their home.
A product page for the Loaded Veggie Grain Bowls indicates the meal is made with ingredients such as brown rice, kale blend, roasted sweet potato, vegetable blend, cilantro pesto, and more. The affected grain bowls can be identified with the following provided details:
- Net Weight: 10/90 OZ (309g)
- NO UPC
- Identifying N4L code: V3FR
The grain bowls were initially recalled on October 7, 2025, but the FDA has now designated the event as a Class II recall as of December 3, meaning it’s a situation in which the recalled product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” but typically, the probability of serious health effects remains low.
