Target and Kroger have now shared out information, too. Here's what's happening with this healthier alternative to an indulgent classic.

Walmart Just Joined In on a Mass Meat Recall

Late Wednesday, a recall broke for a Kraft Heinz Food product under the Oscar Mayer brand. If you’re conscious of heart health, sodium, a pork allergy or don’t eat traditional bacon for any reason, heads-up on a growing recall affecting this alternative protein.
The recall affects Oscar Mayer turkey bacon—a quantity of nearly 370,000 pounds. Though the USDA’s Wednesday announcement labeled the recall as nationwide, Walmart’s website says the products were only sold at “select Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs” in the following 42 states, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
Target also provided more details for their customers, specifically for the 12-ounce packages of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon noted in the USDA’s link. The turkey bacon packages, which retailed for $4.75, were sold both in stores and online at Target.com with the Target item number of 210-10-0736 and online item number of 12945916.
Target directs customers to visit the USDA link to follow the provided instructions, but anyone with questions about their in-store purchase can call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680. Questions about online purchases can be answerer via the Target.com Guest Services number at 1-800-591-3869.
According to an update on Kroger’s website early Thursday, Kroger stores in the following states or areas are also part of the turkey bacon recall: Georgia; South Carolina; Auburn, Alabama; Greater Cincinnati (including Northern Kentucky and Dayton, Ohio plus South Eastern Indiana); Central and Northwest Ohio; Northwestern Virginia panhandle; Michigan; Indiana (except SE Indiana, -Evansville-); Illinois; Eastern Missouri; Greater Louisville area (including Indiana) and Lexington, Kentucky; Hopkinsville and Bowling Green, Kentucky; Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee; Huntsville, Alabama; Greater Memphis area, Tennessee; Arkansas; Mississippi; Western Kentucky; North Carolina; Virginia; Eastern West Virginia; Eastern Kentucky; Southeastern Ohio; Texas and Louisiana.
King Soopers, City Market, Food 4 Less, and Foods Co. stores—all of which are Kroger-owned retailers—are all listed in the recall notice as well.
